AI Concierge (Voice + Chat)

Overview
Designed and built a proof-of-concept AI concierge system that combines voice recognition, natural language processing, and real-time integration with ship services. The system enables guests to make dining reservations, book shore excursions, and get instant answers to common questions using natural conversation.
The Challenge
Guests often faced long wait times when trying to make reservations or get information from the concierge desk. The manual process was time-consuming for both guests and staff. The challenge was to create an AI system that could authentically understand natural language, access real-time availability data, and complete transactions autonomously.
The Solution
GPT-4 & Claude Integration
Implemented a hybrid AI approach using GPT-4 for natural language understanding and conversation flow, with Claude for complex reasoning and context retention. Built custom prompts and fine-tuned responses for hospitality-specific scenarios.
Voice Interface
Integrated speech-to-text and text-to-speech APIs for natural voice interactions. Implemented wake word detection and real-time transcription. Added support for multiple languages and accents common to cruise passengers.
Real-time API Integration
Connected to existing dining reservation systems, shore excursion APIs, and ship information databases. Implemented real-time availability checking and transaction processing. Added fallback handlers for when human intervention is needed.
